Hello! I’m Meaza, and my loved ones call me Maz—the heart and soul behind Rest Assured Events. Born in the vibrant land of Ethiopia, I moved to Washington, DC when I was four and grew up as a native Maryland girl in the diverse DMV area. This melting pot exposed me to a rich tapestry of cultures, from lively quinceañeras and beautiful Diwali celebrations to heartfelt Catholic sacraments like First Communions and Baptisms, as well as joyous Jewish ceremonies such as Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. These diverse cultural experiences have deepened my appreciation for various traditions and the unique ways people celebrate their milestones, fueling my passion for creating memorable and meaningful events.

As a breast cancer survivor, devoted mother of one, and special educator, I have developed a profound appreciation for celebrating life’s small moments and fostering meaningful connections. My journey through cancer taught me the importance of slowing down, finding peace in the present, and embracing each step of the journey, no matter how uncertain. These experiences inspired me to create REST Assured Events, a place where celebrations are filled with love, joy, and heartfelt connections without the added stress.
